Planning body approves €60m factory outlet centre in Dundalk
An Bord Pleanála has approved plans by an Anglo-Irish consortium to construct Ireland's largest factory outlet centre in Dundalk, Co Louth.
The planning appeals body granted permission for the €60m facility subject to 28 conditions.
It overruled objections on the grounds that the planned centre is in keeping with Dundalk's status as a gateway town.
The consortium behind the development is planning to build 80 retail units and 1,200 car parking spaces in a move that could create up to 1,000 jobs.
