‘One third of workers would take pay cut for reduced hours’

More than one third of Irish workers would willingly accept a cut in their pay in return for reduced working hours, according to a survey carried out by the recruitment website IrishJobs.ie.

More than half of respondents to the survey also said they were looking for a job with more flexible hours, while 35% said commuting to work was having a negative impact on their lives.

The survey was carried out to mark National Work-Life Balance Day, which is designed to promote employment policies that give workers more free time.
