ISEQ up 34 on bad day for South Wharf
The ISEQ closed up 33.85 points today at 6789.63.
There was bad news, however, for South Wharf, as the company lost its High Court action against the refusal of Dublin Port Company to grant a change of use from glass manufacturing to port warehousing for its property in Ringsend.
South Wharf’s shares dropped 35c (11.7%) to €2.65.
The financials performed well. AIB closed up 22c (1.4%) at €16.13, Bank of Ireland climbed 15c (1.2%) to close at €12.90, while Irish Life and Permanent was up 10c at €14.65 and Anglo Irish Bank gained 8c to finish at €20.18.
Eircom dropped 3c (1.4%) to finish the day at €2.17.
CRH was the day’s busiest share, up 11c to close at €21.95, while Grafton gained 2c to €10.42.
Paddy Power was unchanged at €12.70. The betting giant announced today it is no longer taking bets on the upcoming NME music awards.
