Rocha joins colleagues at London Fashion Week

Designers John Rocha, Paul Smith and Nicole Farhi were among the big names taking part in London Fashion Week today.

Others showcasing their autumn/winter collections on day two of the bi-annual event included Gharani Strok and New Generation designer Ashish.

Still to come this week are Betty Jackson, Jasper Conran, Aquascutum, Ghost, Frost French and Jean Muir, among others.

More than 4,500 buyers, journalists and photographers are expected to attend London Fashion Week.

But while famous names from the fashion world are in attendance, much attention will be on the dozen or so new names who will be thrust into the spotlight.

It is the first time since September 2002 that the event has not been held in upmarket King’s Road area of Chelsea.

Organisers were forced to relocate south of the River Thames to Battersea Park after coming up against planning problems.

One notable exception this season is Boudicca who has decided to show at New York fashion Week instead.
