Buoyant ISEQ up by over 34 points
The ISEQ index of shares was in buoyant mood today as the majority of its shares showed increases to put the Dublin index up by 34.53 points to 6,485.85.
Shipping Group, Irish Continental, had the biggest rise of the day (up 20c to €11.90), closely followed by Iona technologies (up 17c to €4.35) and Elan (up 15c to €20.35).
Ryanair also joined in with a 14c rise to €5.78 as did C&C Group who saw their shares go up by 13c to €3.21.
The financials also had a good day with the Bank of Ireland showing the biggest rise (up 12c to €12.50). AIB rose 10c to €15.50 and Anglo Irish Bank were up seven cent to €19.10, but Irish Life and Permanent recorded a fall of nine cent to stand at €14.31.
Construction firms Greencore and CRH also saw their stock price go up by 12c and 11c to €3.39 and €20.68 respectively.
However, it wasn't all positive on the index as FBD Holdings' shares plummeted 50c to €20.50 and Donegal Creameries saw their stock tumble 35c to €4.30, while DCC fell by 17c to €17.22.
