Carolyn McCall, chief executive of Guardian Newspapers Ltd, has been appointed a non-executive director to the board of Tesco PLC.

Carolyn McCall, chief executive of Guardian Newspapers Ltd, has been appointed a non-executive director to the board of Tesco PLC.

McCall will replace Veronique Morali, who is stepping down after four years on the Tesco Board to concentrate on her business commitments in France. Morali will leave the Board on February 28 and McCall's appointment will take effect from March 1.
