Incoming BoI governor announced

Bank of Ireland has announced the appointment of Richard Burrows as governor-designate. He will take over the job of governor from Laurence Crowley in July.

Mr Burrows has been deputy governor since 2002, and has been with the bank since 2000.

A chartered accountant by profession, Mr Burrows (58) is joint-managing director of Pernod Ricard SA and chairman of Irish Distillers Group Limited. He is a former President of IBEC.

Bank of Ireland’s share price on the ISEQ at lunchtime was €11.92, up 2c on its opening price today.
