ISEQ makes strong start to the week
The ISEQ index has begun the week on a positive note today, closing this evening up 33.83 to 6.041.18.
Shares in Allied Irish Bank climbed 35c to €14.75 while Bank of Ireland climbed 5c. Shares in Anglo Irish Bank were up 15c to €17.20.
Irish Life & Permanent shares slipped, however, falling 5c to €13.10.
Meanwhile business support services group DCC shrugged off a tough last week, climbing 11c to €15.56.
Pharmaceutical group Elan started the week positively today with shares climbing 15c to €20.80.
Construction stocks fared well today. CRH climbed 7c to €19.30. Shares in Grafton climbed 10c €7.65 while Heiton shares surged 15c to €6.80.
The most traded shares were Bank of Ireland, AIB, Anglo Irish Bank, Irish Life & Permanent and CRH.
