Irish accountants appointed to international posts

Two Irish chartered accountants have been appointed in new posts at the International Federation of Accountants meeting in Paris.

Two Irish chartered accountants have been appointed in new posts at the International Federation of Accountants meeting in Paris.

The gathering also saw the appointment of two ICAI members, Henry Saville of Belfast – a former ICAI President and Richard George of Dublin confirmed as chairs of the Education and Global Ethics Committees respectively.

The president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, Terence O’Rourke and chief executive, Pat Costello, were two of more than 100 leaders of national accountancy institutes that participated in the meetings.

They meeting considered issues such as corporate governance, developing nations, convergence to international standards and other ways accountancy can contribute to economic growth and stability.
