ISME alarmed at postal threat
ISME, the Independent Business Organisation has expressed it's grave concern at the lack of progress in talks between An Post management and the Communications Workers (CWU), which is threatening postal services in the lead up to the busy Christmas period.
ISME chief executive Mark Fielding said: “This threat of action could not come at a worse possible time.
"The lead up to Christmas is generally the busiest period for many small companies with a significant number heavily relying on the postal service to receive payments for goods and services.
"Any delays in postal delivery will have a detrimental impact on company cash flow and in turn will create difficulties for paying staff salaries and wages.”
