Eircom censured for providing 'misleading' information
The communications regulator ComReg has censured eircom for using misleading information to win back a customer who had switched to a rival service provider.
The ruling followed a complaint from IFA Telecom, a phone firm established by the Irish Farmers Association to provide cheaper calls to its members.
The IFA said ComReg had found that an eircom representative provided misleading information about IFA Telecom to a consumer.
The association said this was the eight time that eircom had been found to have breached the CPS code of practice following complaints from IFA Telecom.
It accused the company of a systematic attempt to win back IFA Telecom customer by providing confusing and misleading information.
