Omniplex plans €8m multiplex in Carlow

Omniplex Cinema Group is planning to invest €8m in a nine-screen multiplex cinema complex in Carlow.

The cinema complex, an application for which is being considered by Carlow County Council, would be located in Fairgreen shopping centre, Barrack Street, Carlow and is planned for Autumn 2005.

Up to 30 full and part time staff will be employed in the complex, if permission is granted and it is built.

Omniplex cinemas are currently located in Carrickfergus, Drogheda, Enniskillen, Galway, Limerick, Lisburn, Newry, Clonmel, Santry, Tralee and Tullamore.

Omniplex Cork, the 13-screen multiplex facility located in Mahon Point Shopping Centre is due to open in Spring 2005.
