Irish exporters sign MOU with Chinese province

Mr Don Moore, chairman of the Irish Exporters Association (IEA) Asia Trade Forum, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Gansu Province of China to provide a business-to-business platform to assist exporters to effectively penetrate the Chinese market of Gansu.

The official signing of the MOU was completed by Wu Bilian the vice governor of Gansu who flew in for the ceremony, and was witnessed by Government chief whip Mr Tom Kitt.

Mr Moore said: “The rapidly growing Chinese market is a particularly difficult market for the vast range of small to medium sized exporters to penetrate.

“The IEA have developed a strategy to support the key sectors with maximum potential for Irish exporters of IT, food and education. This strategy involved putting in place business-to-business (B2B) platforms with the Province of Gansu which we believe will provide support for food companies in particular and also education companies."
