IBOA anger at FSRA representation

The Irish Bank Officials' Association has criticised the Government for failing to appoint a representative of banking staff to the Financial Services Regulatory Authority.

The criticism was put forward at a conference being held by the association in Wexford today.

Speaking at the conference, IBOA general secretary Larry Broderick also reiterated the IBOA call for a "root-and-branch" reform of the banking sector in the wake of recent scandals at AIB and NIB.

The IBOA believes such reform is necessary to end the culture of putting profits before ethics.
