South Wharf - the company remaining after the Ardagh glass business was demerged and taken private - has reported pre-tax losses of €1.2m for the first half of 2004.

Losses in the same period last year were €2.2m. Turnover was €500,000, which the company said today reflects the run down of stocks produced by Irish Glass.

Chairman Paul Coulson said: "We are still awaiting the decision regarding our legal action against Dublin Port Company over the right to obtain a change of use in relation to the substantial warehousing facilities at Ringsend."
