IAWS appoints new chief ops officer

IAWS Group plc has announced the appointment of Tom O’Mahony as chief operations officer. Mr O’Mahony is currently group general manager of finance and has held financial and operational management positions across the group since joining IAWS in 1985.

IAWS Group plc has announced the appointment of Tom O’Mahony as chief operations officer. Mr O’Mahony is currently group general manager of finance and has held financial and operational management positions across the group since joining IAWS in 1985.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and a Commerce graduate from UCD. He has served in financial and operational roles across the group over the past two decades and has been actively involved in the repositioning of the business over the past 10 years.

In the role of chief operations officer Mr O’Mahony’s responsibilities will encompass the total IAWS business covering both food and agribusiness.

He has considerable experience in agri-business having served as financial girector of both the feed ingredients and proteins and oils businesses.

In the early 1990s he played a key role in the acquisition and repositioning of R&H Hall, United Fish Products in the UK and animal protein and petfood businesses.

In addition, he has been actively involved in the acquisition of Pierre’s, La Brea and the joint venture with Tim Hortons in Canada.

Commenting on the appointment, IAWS Group chief executive Owen Killian said: "Tom has played a key management role at group level in acquisitions, disposals, business integration and financial control over the past two decades.

"During this period, he has developed a depth of expertise across the group’s operations which equips him well for his new position.

"His appointment is a further step in building a group-management team to drive ongoing growth in existing and new markets."

On the ISEQ this afternoon, IAWS shares were static at €10.30.
