Accountants welcome McCreevy EC appointment

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI) has welcomed the allocation of the Internal Market portfolio to the Minister for Finance, Charlie McCreevy.

Commenting on the appointment, ICAI President, Terence O’Rourke, said: “It is pleasing from a national perspective to see Mr McCreevy, a member of this Institute, appointed to a senior economic portfolio like Internal Market.

"The Minister has rightly identified the challenge of improving Europe’s competitiveness and employment position as being his top priority. We wish him the same success in this area as he has enjoyed at home."
