ICAI call for careful response to directors' guidance

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI) has called on the business community to respond carefully to the draft guidance on the Directors’ compliance statement mandated by the 2003 Companies Act published today by the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement.

ICAI President, Terence O’Rourke said that additional time may be required to facilitate a proper consideration of the issues involved.

“Although this draft is being exposed until the end of September for comment, we are concerned that, with one of these months being August, the business community will not have time to consider carefully as the issues involved."

The draft guidance was published today by the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement.
