Beamish postpones pint increases
Beamish & Crawford announced today it is postponing any increase in the price of its draught products until September 1.
Beamish & Crawford's draught products in Ireland are Beamish Stout; Miller Genuine Draft; Foster's Lager; Kronenbourg 1664; Carling and Scrumpy Jack Cider.
In the case of Beamish Stout, there is an existing promotion whereby a pint of Beamish is sold at 25c less than competing stouts.
With today's announcement, the price differential could increase to about 40c for the remainder of June, July and August.
Miller Genuine Draft is the fastest growing mainstream lager brand nationally, now capturing 8% of the Dublin lager market and 4% nationally.
"We are delighted to announce this development to our customers who have been operating in a highly difficult trading environment," said Alf Smiddy, managing director, Beamish & Crawford.
Beamish & Crawford is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Scottish & Newcastle and is the oldest brewery in Ireland.
