BOI names new chief executive
Bank of Ireland has named Brian Goggin as its new chief executive following the resignation of Mike Soden.
Mr Goggin joined the Bank of Ireland Group in 1969 and became the bank's chief executive of the Asset Management Services Division in April 2003 following seven years as chief executive of the Group's Wholesale Financial Services Division.
Mr Goggin was believed to have been a contender for the top job two years ago but was beaten to the position by Mr Soden, who resigned from the bank last weekend.
Mr Goggin has had a wide-ranging career within Bank of Ireland, covering a broad array of financial services, including retail and wholesale banking, and capital markets.
