IAWS beefs up agribusiness division

IAWS has moved to strengthen its agribusiness division with the appointment of Liam Larkin as chief executive and Tom Tynan as commercial director.

The appointments create a divisional management team that will be responsible for its development.

IAWS Agribusiness has a turnover of €600m incorporating three principal activities - animal feed ingredients, fertiliser blending and marine proteins.

Commenting on the appointments, Owen Killian, IAWS Group, said: "The Agribusiness Division is a key part of the Group with strong market positions, a consistent profit record, good cash generation and significant asset backing.

"The creation of a divisional management function brings a new impetus to these important businesses and supports experienced management teams in driving strategic development and growth opportunities."

Liam Larkin was previously head of IAWS' fertiliser business in Ireland and the UK since 2001.

He was appointed chief executive of Goulding Fertiliser in 1997 and prior to that managed the sales and marketing function in Goulding.

Tom Tynan will have responsibility for the marketing and business development functions of the division and has been appointed a director of Goulding Fertiliser and R&H Hall.

He will also become a director of related associate companies and will continue to be responsible for the group public affairs function.
