British leisure group Whitbread is to sell a string of three-star hotels in a bid to focus on its budget and luxury chains, it announced today.

Whitbread said it had received approaches from a number of parties interested in buying the 11-strong Courtyard by Marriott chain, but did not specify a sale price.
