Somerfield to shed 350 Kwik Save jobs

Supermarket group Somerfield is to do away with its Kwik Save brand in Scotland in a move that will lead to around 350 job losses, it announced today.

The retailer, which currently has 51 Kwik Save stores in Scotland, will close 22 of the outlets and a depot in East Kilbride by the end of the year.

It will convert the remaining 29 stores to the Somerfield format in a bid to focus its attention on the brand.
