Microsoft ruling scheduled for tomorrow

EU competition commissioner Mario Monti will announce the European Commission's ruling in its antitrust probe into Microsoft Corp at around 1.15 pm tomorrow, according to EU spokesperson Amelia Torres.

Torres declined to respond to Microsoft's comment last night that the commission was unjustified in proposing a record fine of €497m in connection with an expected ruling that the company abused its dominant market position.
