Leeds United sold to a Yorkshire-based consortium
Debt ridden football club Leeds United has been sold by the administrators of Leeds United Plc to Adulant Force, a company set up by a Yorkshire-based consortium.
The cost of the deal was not disclosed.
Adulant Force has also acquired the Elland Road stadium and the Thorp Arch training ground.
Leeds United PLC is the ultimate parent company for a number of subsidiary companies including Leeds United AFC Ltd, which operates the football club.
Earlier the Leeds United group said financial adminstrators had been appointed to two companies, but not the soccer club itself.
The deal has been accepted by the group's creditors.
Leeds United PLC was more than £105m (€156.4m) in debt.
Its shares were suspended on Feb 27 at 2.75 pence, giving the company a then notional value of
£9.6 (€14.3m).
The football club is currently bottom of the 20-team Premier League.
