Govt urged to prioritise gender equality in future policy decisions

An organisation representing professional women in Ireland has called on the Government to prioritise gender equality in all future policy decisions.

Network Ireland, which represents women in business and the arts, made the call to coincide with International Women’s Day.

It also called on the Government to improve education for women, promote family-friendly work policies and eliminate the so-called "glass ceiling" that some women encounter in the workplace.
