BWG appoint new Group Development Director

Food distributor BWG has appointed Peter Kealy as Group Development Director.

Kealy's role will be to work with the management teams of various BWG Group companies, such as BWG Foods and Appleby Westward, to assist them in delivering their individual strategic objectives.

The newly created role will also see the development director advise the senior management teams on the strategic development of BWG's symbol brands, SPAR and Mace in Ireland and SPAR in the South West of England.

Kealy will also become a Board Director of BWG Foods, SPAR Ireland and Appleby Westward.

Announcing the appointment Leo Crawford, Group Chief Executive said: "Peter has extensive experience within the BWG Group having previously worked as Managing Director of both Appleby Westward and J&J Haslett, and Sales & Marketing Director for BWG Foods.

"This experience will be invaluable in ensuring that BWG and our SPAR and Mace retailers continue to develop, innovate and gain market share in an increasingly competitive market place," Crawford added.

Prior to joining BWG Group Kealy worked with H Williams Group and Tesco.
