A new Dublin City Council housing development at Emmet Crescent in Inchicore is to be officially opened by Councillor Sheila Gallogly on behalf of the Lord Mayor this afternoon.

A new Dublin City Council housing development at Emmet Crescent in Inchicore is to be officially opened by Councillor Sheila Gallogly on behalf of the Lord Mayor this afternoon.

The €7m development is on the grounds of the old Goldenbridge Convent and consists of 50 homes comprising of 2,3 and 4 bedroom houses and 2 bedrooms apartments.

The new development sits with the former Convent and church buildings which are now an integrated services complex, providing employment, training and educational services, and a new theatre for the Inchicore Institute of Further Education.

The Emmet Crescent development completes the first phase of the regeneration of St Michael's Estate from which the new residents were rehoused.
