Waldron to head BOI/Post Office link

Patrick Waldron has been appointed as Chief Executive of the recently announced financial services joint venture in Britain between Bank of Ireland and Post Offices Ltd.

The two companies are to market a range of banking and financial services products through the UK Post Office network.

Waldron is currently Director of Retail Strategy and Change in the Retail Division of Bank of Ireland. He was formerly Director of Sales and Marketing and Head of Direct Banking.

Speaking today on the appointment, Mike Soden, BOI Group Chief Executive said: "Patrick Waldron is one of our most experienced and best management talents and his appointment symbolises the potential that we see in this new business."
