Low cost airline EasyJet has signed a long-term deal with Berlin Schonefeld Airport to make it the airline's latest European base, chief executive Ray Webster said.

Low cost airline EasyJet has signed a long-term deal with Berlin Schonefeld Airport to make it the airline's latest European base, chief executive Ray Webster said.

The airline will initially operate 11 routes out of Berlin Schonefeld to six countries.

The routes are: Luton, Liverpool, Bristol and Newcastle in the UK, Paris and Nice in France, Palma Majorca and Barcelona in Spain, Naples in Italy,Copenhagen in Denmark and Athens in Greece

Easyjet is set to base six aircraft in Berlin, creating about 300-400 new jobs starting in May 2004, with all flights introduced by June 2004.
