Tourism chiefs tackle rising insurance

The national tourism development agency has announced a new initiative to address the cost of insurance in the sector.

Fáilte Ireland is working with the Irish Hotels Federation and Restaurants Association on the move.

The Chair of Failte Ireland, Gillian Bowler, says Ireland is becoming less competitive as a holiday destination.

For a sustainable future, and to meet growth targets, she says the agency is working as a priority to find ways to help businesses reduce their cost base.

The first step in that process is tackling high insurance costs.
