European Airlines report boost in traffic

The Association of European airlines (AEA) has reported that European airlines' international traffic for the week to Aug 17 rose 3.4% year-on-year as North Atlantic routes made a recovery.

On North Atlantic routes, traffic grew by 8% year-on-year. The association was anxious to stress that the market is still "very much down" on its pre-September 11 level.
