Labyrinth, has awarded a contract by the Department of Foreign Affairs to design, build and manage the website for Ireland’s Presidency of the EU.

Labyrinth has worked for the Government a number of times, developing the websites for a number of referenda. It also developed new websites for CIE.

Ireland will hold the Presidency of the European Union for the first six months of 2004.

The website, www.eu2004.ie, will have an estimated 20,000 pages of content. It will include webcasts, online accreditation for events, e-mail and SMS news alerts. The website will be multilingual and will be fully accessible to people of all abilities.

In 1999, Esat, now a subsidiary of British Telecom, purchased 51% of Labyrinth and in May 2002 Labyrinth was 100% purchased by the BT Group.
