BA to resume flights to Iraq

British Airways PLC announced that it has been given permission by the US-led administration in Iraq, the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA), to begin air services to Basra, the country's second city.

British Airways PLC announced that it has been given permission by the US-led administration in Iraq, the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA), to begin air services to Basra, the country's second city.

The airline plans to fly twice a week, via Kuwait, using a Boeing 777 aircraft.

It said a decision will be taken, together with the CPA, on a date for the resumption of flights.
