AOL Time Warner thinking about name change

AOL Time Warner is considering a name change and may drop the AOL and become known simply as Time Warner.

The company became known as AOL Time Warner on the $160bn (€140bn) merger of AOL and Time Warner three years ago.

It is felt that the problems of the AOL division of the business is affecting investor confidence. AOL Time Warner is still under investigation by the SEC for allegedly inflating America Online's earnings before the merger of the two companies.

However, there is a general feeling that a name change would not really make a difference to how the company is viewed.
