Ryanair, the low fares airline, have called on Aer Lingus to "come clean" with their punctuality statistics.

Ryanair claims that the figures published on their website are dramatically different from those recent on-times officially reported by C.A.A.

Ryanair also say that although Aer Lingus promised eight weeks ago to publish punctuality statistics on a weekly basis, they haven't kept their promise.

Ryanair's Head of Communications, Paul Fitzsimmons, has said he is anxious to see if the C.A.A. statistics for May - June 2003 back up the national carrier's claims to punctuality.
