Spar planning takeover of rival Londis

The convenience chain Spar is reportedly planning moves to take over rival supermarket group Londis.

The move comes just days after Londis acquired the Top Shop chain of 120 stores in garage forecourts from the Tedcastle group.

If the potential Spar takeover goes ahead, it would double the company's stake in the grocery retail market.
