GlaxoSmithKline has announced that its court battle with Canadian firm Apotex over the expiry in 2006 of a patent covering its antidepressant Paxil will start in Chicago on February 5.

The pharmaceutical giant's Irish operations are in Rathfarnham, Dublin, Carrigaline, Co Cork and Dungarvan, Co Waterford.
