Manufacturing industry under threat

More jobs are expected to be lost in the manufacturing sector unless the government takes action.

That's according to the Irish Small and Medium Enterprise Group.

Over 18,000 industrial jobs were lost in the first nine months of this year.

ISME's chairman, Mark Fielding, insists that the marketing sector has taken the brunt of the economic downturn.

He maintains that the government now need to make sure more jobs are not lost.
