AOL Time Warner 'may cut more jobs'

AOL Time Warner Inc's America Online may cut more jobs in the next two months, according to reports.

The Wall Street Journal said sources who attended an internal meeting with America Online chief executive Jonathan F Miller passed on the information.

Miller reportedly did not spell out any future layoffs, but hinted that job cuts would be coming in the next two months.

Miller said the 18,000-person organisation needed to conform to the new strategy announced to Wall Street yesterday, according to the report.

The AOL Time Warner division promised Wall Street on Tuesday that it would increase its profits in 2004 after its business "bottoms out" in 2003 resulting in significant cuts next year in the amount of a "nine-figure number".
