Share prices closed lower led by major banks and Qantas after the fall on Wall Street overnight, though the resource sector was mixed, dealers said.

The S&P/ASX 200 closed down 11.2 point or 0.36% at 3,072.6, off a high of 3083.4 and a low of 3,059.7, while the All Ordinaries was down 10.4 points at 3,037.2.
