Unitech Systems completes major project

Unitech Systems has completed the design and installation of a major data management solution for the Irish operations of Royal & SunAlliance Ireland, following a strategic decision by the insurance company to streamline its information technology systems infrastructure and provide for future growth in storage requirements.

SunAlliance needed to consolidate and upgrade its data management methods and as a result its systems infrastructure. Unitech designed the necessary data management architecture using IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager Software (TSM) and IBM's Ultascalable LTO Tape Library.

Dublin company Unitech provides consultancy services on large and midrange systems, principally in the IBM and Oracle markets.
