Carlsberg Breweries AS is considering a merger with Scottish & Newcastle Breweries PLC, Dagens Naeringsliv reported citing several anonymous sources within Carlsberg.

Combined, the companies would be the second largest brewer in the world, with Orkla ASA as the dominant owner.
