Second-hand Dublin house prices up 13.5% this year
Second-hand house prices in Dublin rose by 7% in the second quarter of this year, according to Douglas Newman Good’s latest House Price Gauge.
The figures bring the average increase to 13.5% for the first six months of this year, with the average price for a second-hand home in Dublin now standing at more than €292,000.
Paul Murgatroyd, an economist with Douglas Newman Good, said the main reason for the increase was low levels of supply.
"On average, supply is down by 30% compared to the first six months of last year and fewer properties means less choice and higher prices for potential purchasers," he said.
