Car insurance claims cost industry too much

Irish car insurance claims cost the industry twice what they should, according to a report published today.

The report, which was commissioned by the Insurance Federation, found that the Irish insurance industry is not overly profitable.

Federation chairman Michael Kemp also said high premiums such as those for young drivers could be reduced.
