Tesco lets shoppers trade loyalty points for dream wedding

Tesco is to let its shoppers redeem their loyalty card points for an exotic dream wedding in the Caribbean or Australia.

If the scheme proves to be a success then the company plans to sell wedding-related products, such as bridesmaid's dresses, hair accessories, tiaras, shoes and garters.

The Deals scheme allows Tesco Clubcard holders to choose from a range of locations for their wedding.

Tesco director John Gildersleeve said: "The cost of a wedding and all the trimmings often means that couples have to pull in the purse strings and forfeit that dream exotic honeymoon for somewhere closer to home.

"However, our new scheme makes dreams a reality by enabling shoppers to save up their Clubcard vouchers for up to two years, and then trade them in for fantastic breaks they otherwise would not be able to afford.

"We hope that we will be able to help couples take that walk from our shopping aisles to the wedding aisle and maybe even an isle in the sun."
