AIB branches out in Little Island and Dublin

The continued importance of the business hub in Little Island outside Cork City was the catalyst for AIB’s decision to open a new branch with longer opening hours in the area, as well as two further outlets in Dublin.

AIB branches out in Little Island and Dublin

The bank yesterday said it will open branches at the end of October at Grand Canal Dock and Carrickmines Retail Park in Dublin, as well as the Little Island premises.

All three will have extended opening hours during the week, with the Dublin locations open at weekends.

AIB chief executive Bernard Byrne said the bank is expanding its network of branches for the first time in a number of years.

“We are delighted to announce the opening of these three new outlets as it marks another important milestone in the bank’s customer-led strategy,” said Mr Byrne.

“Over the past number of years, AIB has transformed its business to be more focused on customer needs, with flexible banking hours, the latest in in-branch technologies and significant improvements in mobile and online banking.

“For the first time in three years we are expanding our branch network and we will continue investing in our branches nationwide.”

Much like the increasing need to cater for business customers in Little Island, similar requirements have emerged in Carrickmines which is home to Ireland’s busiest retail park.

Grand Canal Dock, meanwhile, has undergone a huge transformation in recent years as a favoured destination of large multinationals.
