Cashpile at Sheridan firm triples to €350,000
The Dubliner is currently shooting a film adaptation of Sebastian Barry’s 2008 novel, The Secret Scripture in Co Kilkenny with a cast including Irish actor Jack Reynor, Rooney Mara, Erica Bana, Theo James, and Oscar winners Vanessa Redgrave and Jeremy Irons.
The figures show that while Mr Sheridan’s movie career continues to go from strength to strength, his bank balance also had a sharp rise in 2013, with his firm’s cash balance increasing by €241,370 from €111,238 to €352,608.
The figures for Sheridan’s Chartscript Ltd show that, during the same period, the firm’s accumulated profits decreased from €323,193 to €309,330. Directors’ remuneration at the firm remained at €15,000.
The accounts show that Mr Sheridan was owed €35,560 by the firm on December 31 2013.
The 66-year old director of The Field and In the Name of the Father last year attended the long-running Anglo trial as part of research for his planned “Swfitian satire” of a movie into the crash.
A note attached to the accounts states that Mr Sheridan charges the company for his services as he is an independent contractor.
The firm’s shareholder funds stood at €309,457. Mr Sheridan is also a director and shareholder in CK Broadcasting Ltd, the firm behind the radio station KCLR 96FM, which operates a broadcast licence for Carlow and Kilkenny.
