Sports management firm’s profits race ahead

In the firm’s most successful ever year, new figures show that Simms’s Pace Sports Management Ltd firm recorded profits of £656,740 (€819,529) last year.

The Donegal-born Simms has been the trusted agent and confidante of the fastest man on the planet, Usain Bolt for over a decade.

New figures show that Simms’ firm continued to reap the benefits of representing the interests of the world’s best known and most marketable athlete in 2013.

Figures just filed with Companies House in the UK show that the profits recorded by Simms’ firm last year were more than four times the profits of £152,222 recorded in 2012.

The figures show that at the end of December 31, 2013, the firm’s accumulated profits had increased from £473,906 to £1.13m.

At the same time, the firm’s cash pile had increased £669,829 to £1.453m. This compared to the company’s cash increasing from £584,905 to £669,829 in 2012.

Along with representing the Olympic champion Bolt, the agency also represents double Olympic Gold medal winner Mo Farah.

The UK-based firm has expanded to open up a Pace service office in Kenya where a number of its athletes are based. Today, the firm represents around 60 top athletes.
