US travel accommodation company Airbnb has said it will double its workforce in Ireland to 200 employees by the end of this year.

The six-year-old San Francisco-headquartered firm acts as an online accommodation network and communication platform for people looking to rent unoccupied living space in their properties to holidaymakers.

Last September, the firm announced it had chosen Dublin as the location for its European headquarters, with 100 jobs being initially earmarked for the base.
